My son is 25 a has Type 1 Diabetes. They have on beautiful son he is 2 years old. They have been pregant 2 times since his birth but lost the baby early one. My daughter in law says it is because of diabetes. I really don't see how can this effect a mans sperm after he has done fathered one child?

My name: HQN
My question: I have a diabetic friend who recently heard that diabetes could be controlled by only diet and exercise. Is this applicable to only pre-diabetes or also to those who already got diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and have been on medications for a while? More precisely, can a diabetic person stop taking his existing medicines, or does he have to depend on them for the rest of his life?

It seems like there's sugar in everything these days. How can I avoid it, especially when I'm eating out?

I know there are a lot of natural sweeteners out there that don't use nasty chemicals (like Splenda does, for instance). What are they?
